KINGMAN -
Philip Hagar, new minister for the Christian and Missionary Alliance in
Kingman,
Moving to Kingman from
While serving as the director of
development for the Mid-America District of C&MA, Hagar worked as a church
growth and management consultant with churches across five states (
Hagar has big goals for Kingman. In the two weeks he has been here, he has met many of Kingman’s pastors and formed close working relationships with them.
“I’m here not to compete but to cooperate to bring the Word of God to the people of Kingman,” he said.
Statistically, almost half of the people in Kingman do not attend any church, he said, and many people feel church is irrelevant and has nothing to offer.
His goal is to see his church become one that would change the way people view church.
Hagar uses the acronym COMPASS to describe his core values and vision for his new challenge.
“A COMPASS is a navigational instrument that keeps one on course and headed in the right direction. It always points to true north and cannot be diverted by any natural means from that objective,” he said.
“Likewise, our ‘core values’ are the directional instrument that keep our ministry focused and on track. They point us toward the unique direction and ministry emphasis that God has called us to.”
His core values dictate that church should be Culturally relevant, Outreach focused, Multiplication driven, Purpose driven, Acceptance oriented, apply the Scriptures to real life and strive for Spiritual formation.
